HORSE RIDING IN KYRGYZSTAN

For many years, horses have helped shepherds to transport their temporary homes (yurts) through the passes of high-altitude pastures. The horse is considered an integral part of the life of the nomadic people. Over the course of several days, you will visit various climatic zones – from semi-deserts to tundra. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to spend the night in a yurt, the real dwelling of ancient nomads, and get to know their life and culture.

Skills Required: This tour is recommended for those who are able to independently climb on a horse, dismount a horse, hold in the saddle while walking, and steer a horse on flat terrain.
Additional Conditions: During the tour, the guide and groom will keep an eye on you and the horses. The time in the saddle is about 4-6 hours a day. The difference in altitude during the tour varies from 800 to 2500 meters above sea level.

We offer you a unique journey – horseback riding on the Great Silk Road in Kyrgyzstan. You will go past the virgin natural landscapes of the Tien Shan, in the highland region with its pine forests, visit the tundra zone, which is covered with primroses, crystal clear highland lakes and rivers. You will try the ancient drink of Kyrgyz – “Kymyz” (fermented mares milk), you will enjoy the mountainous rivers. In the forest zone you can spend the night around the campfire.

On the way, you can meet nomads who inhabit the summer pasture (Jailoo) – shepherds, visit their tents – yurts and try national Kyrgyz dishes become part of their nomadic lifestyle.
